Austrian brand Aster combines the Ethiopian and German roots of its founder Esther in minimalist, handmade unisex design that uses traditional Ethiopian leather craftsmanship . The leather for their bags comes from sustainable livestock farming as a byproduct of meat production, which is further processed in an environmentally friendly tannery in the country's capital, Addis Ababa. All production takes place locally and contributes to job creation, which helps to boost the Ethiopian economy while producing high-quality, durable and superbly designed products.
