'Bondamanjak'

...is the name of the new collaboration between Saucony and street style legend BISSO on the legendary Saucony Shadow 5000.

Selecta BISSO is all in one...photographer, DJ, street style icon, and, of course, sneakerhead. The artist hails from the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe and dedicates this collaboration to the colors and impressions of his island homeland. The design is named after the Bondamanjak pepper, which is native to Guadeloupe and is one of the hottest chili varieties. The colorway of the Shadow 5000 reflects the various colors the pepper undergoes during the ripening process: a rich grassy green gives way to a faint, then bright sunny yellow, and culminates in a fiery scarlet red. The laces and the lining inside the shoe shine in a vibrant azure blue, like the Caribbean Sea. These colors are found on premium materials, such as perforated suede and smooth leather, as well as a Madras print, a tartan-like material often worn during traditional celebrations in West Indian and Guyanese culture, which differs on each pair, making each piece in this collaboration unique.

Furthermore, with this collab, BISSO tells the story of the women of the West Indies, whom Bisso describes as strong and a true inspiration to him: "I wanted to pay tribute to my roots, but also to all Caribbean women who, like this chili pepper, face challenges with intensity and grace. Every detail of this sneaker tells a story—a story of rich culture, a strong identity, and a heritage that continues to be passed on."
