It's your world: you decide how you run

Saucony has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century when the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company was founded in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. The name "Saucony" comes from a river that Native Americans called "Saucon," meaning "the place where two rivers meet." This is reflected in the brand's logo, which features a flowing river with three boulders.

During the rise of running in the early to mid 20th century, there was a lack of suitable equipment in the region. Saucony filled this gap and began producing high-quality running shoes that were coveted by aspiring athletes. The quality of their shoes was recognized by Consumer Reports magazine's "Best Quality" award in 1977, which helped Saucony running shoes quickly become the most coveted of their time.

The brand gained further attention in 1983 when runner Rod Dixon won the New York City Marathon wearing Saucony running shoes. This helped to bring the brand to a wider audience. In honor of Dixon, Saucony developed the signature model DXN Trainer, which is still available today. Other popular models from the 80s include the Saucony Jazz and the Shadow range.

In the 90s, Saucony added more technically advanced silhouettes like the Shadow 6000, which are still popular in sneaker circles today. With successful collaborations, the brand managed to establish itself as a respected force in the sneaker scene. The introduction of GRID cushioning in these new models was a breath of fresh air and contributed to Saucony's popularity.

Overall, Saucony has a rich history of producing high-quality running shoes that are loved by athletes and sneaker enthusiasts alike.
